The Diocesan Office of Worship has as its function…

– the promotion of authentic liturgical formation and practices among the people of God

– through appropriate study and pastoral implementation of all forms of corporate worship,

– with the hope that public worship throughout the diocese can become an integrating and motivating factor in the ongoing renewal of the life of each worshiping community.

In addition, this office, promotes programs for the Rite of Christian Initiation.

Registration for the Diocesan Education Session

New Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will be appointed by Bishop Foys for ministry effective May 1, 2019.

According to the Norms for the Diocese of Covington:

  • Each person – EMHC and Lectors –  must attend a diocesan education session as well as a parish session.
  • Lectors are not appointed by the Bishop, and therefore do not need to be nominated to participate.
  • Nominations for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion must be made by the parish priest.
  • Nominations for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion must be made using either the form mailed to the parish, or the link mailed to the parish pastor.

Registration has closed for the next diocesan training session April 4, 2019 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at St. Paul Parish, Florence

Another training session is planned for Monday, August 26, 2019 from 7-9 PM at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Alexandria, KY.
